Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 September 2026

Maxwell Plumbing & Electrical (“Maxwell”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information through our website, customer enquiries, trade services, Google Business Profile and the Maxwell Website Manager.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, telephone number, service address and preferred contact details;
  • details of your enquiry, quote request, booking, job, property, feedback or complaint;
  • billing, transaction and record-keeping information where needed to provide our services or meet legal obligations;
  • technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed and website security or server logs; and
  • publicly available information and information you authorise us to access through connected services, including Google Business Profile data as described below.

Please do not send sensitive information unless it is necessary and we have asked you to provide it.

How we collect information

We usually collect information directly from you when you telephone, email, submit a website form, request a quote, engage us for work or communicate with us. We may also collect information from a person acting for you, referrals, publicly available sources, our service providers, analytics tools and connected business platforms where you have authorised access.

Why we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, schedule and deliver plumbing and electrical services, communicate about work, maintain business records, improve our website and services, protect our systems, prevent fraud or misuse, comply with legal obligations and resolve complaints. We do not sell personal information.

Website analytics, cookies and logs

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, security, performance measurement and analytics. We use services including Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. These services may collect device, browser, IP address and usage information. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may affect site functions.

Google Business Profile API data

The Maxwell Website Manager may request the Google OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage. After the Maxwell business owner grants permission, the manager may access Google Business Profile account and location information, business categories, attributes, contact details, public reviews and review replies. It may update business information or post a review reply only when an authorised Maxwell user approves that action.

The manager uses Google user data only to provide and improve its visible website and business-profile management features. It does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar or Google Contacts. Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, used to determine creditworthiness or transferred to data brokers. Access credentials and tokens are stored as encrypted service secrets, data is transmitted using encrypted connections, and access is restricted to authorised operations. Business Profile data is generally retrieved when needed; limited operational and audit records may be retained for security, accountability and legal compliance.

You can revoke the manager’s Google access at any time through your Google Account permissions. You may also ask us to disconnect the integration or delete Google user data we control by emailing admin@maxwellpe.com. Revocation or deletion may prevent the connected management features from working.

Who we disclose information to

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to our staff and contractors, professional advisers, insurers, regulators and trusted providers that support hosting, content delivery, security, backups, email, analytics, customer communications and connected business tools. These providers include WordPress and cPanel hosting services, Cloudflare and Google services. We may also disclose information when required or authorised by law, or with your consent.

Overseas processing

Some technology providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where their systems or support teams operate. Provider locations can change. We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances when using overseas providers.

Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet service is completely secure. We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, to maintain business and audit records, resolve disputes, or meet taxation, insurance, licensing and other legal obligations. We then delete, de-identify or securely dispose of it where practicable.

Access and correction

You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate information be corrected. Email admin@maxwellpe.com with enough detail for us to identify the relevant information. We may need to verify your identity. If an exception applies, we will explain our decision where required.

Privacy complaints

If you have a privacy concern, email admin@maxwellpe.com and describe the issue. We will investigate and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied and the Australian Privacy Act 1988 applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

Our website and connected management tools are intended for adults seeking or administering trade services. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, technology or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page.
